About Us

The Stanton Street Duo is a Latin American ensemble composed of chromatic harmonica and seven string guitar with a virtuosic approach to urban and folk styles. Since participating as finalists in the CAG Elmaleh Competition in NYC, the duo has performed throughout the USA and Mexico. They recorded their debut album, Lengua al Viento: Stanton Street Duo plays Astor Piazzolla, in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2025.

Praised for their evocative performances and intense musical chemistry, the Stanton Street Duo attracts a diverse range of audiences. Berto and Tatiana integrate the diverse styles that shaped their individual musical identities to create new music for this unique instrumental combination. Audiences are presented with an array of the distinctive flavors of tango, milonga, folklórico, danzon, bolero, bossa nova and choro in thrilling performances that promise a heartfelt and emotional experience.

Berto and Tatiana both studied Classical Guitar Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The duo formed in 2021 alongside the birth of their daughter, the same year in which Berto discovered the chromatic harmonica.

Stanton Street Duo was recently named one of "San Diego's Finest" by KPBS for their submission to NPR's 2026 Tiny Desk Contest.

Future projects include the release of their second album in Summer 2027.
